Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 1, 2026
Consumer Recalls USA ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect limited information to operate and improve the site:
- Usage data — When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically collects standard web server logs including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring URL. This data is used in aggregate for analytics and security purposes.
- Email addresses — If you subscribe to our recall alert newsletter, we collect your email address. Subscription is entirely optional and requires your explicit consent.
- Contact form submissions — If you contact us via the contact form, we collect the information you provide (name, email, message) in order to respond to your inquiry.
We do not collect payment information, Social Security numbers, or any sensitive personal data.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate and improve the site and its search functionality
- To send recall alert newsletters to subscribers who have opted in
- To respond to contact form inquiries
- To monitor for abuse, security threats, and technical issues
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising targeting or share it with data brokers.
3. Third-Party Services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate the site:
- Cloudflare — Provides hosting, CDN, and DDoS protection. Cloudflare processes web traffic on our behalf and may log request data per their own privacy policy.
- Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — We use Brevo to manage newsletter subscriptions and send recall digest emails. Subscriber email addresses are stored in Brevo's platform.
- openFDA / CPSC / NHTSA APIs — We query these public government APIs to retrieve recall data. No personal data is transmitted to these services in the course of normal site operation.
4. Cookies
We use cookies only for basic analytics — specifically to understand aggregate traffic patterns such as page views and session counts. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking technologies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting the core functionality of this site.
5. Your Rights
- Opt out of newsletters — Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time.
- Data deletion — You may request deletion of any personal data we hold about you (such as a newsletter subscription or contact form submission) by emailing privacy@consumerrecallsusa.com. We will fulfill deletion requests within 30 days.
- Access — You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by contacting us at the same address.
