THE FLUID RETURN HOSE INSTALLED BETWEEN THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR AND PUMP IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO DETERIORATION AND "KINKING". DETERIORATION OF THE HOSE PERMITS PARTICLES TO ENTER THE POWER STEERING FLUID SYSTEM RESTRICTING FLOW. BOTH HOSE DETERIORATION AND KINKING MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF POWER STEERING
