THE STEERING COLUMN IS CONNECTED TO THE STEERING GEAR BY MEANS OF SPLINED SHAFT COUPLINGS. THESE COUPLINGS ARE SECURED WITH A TRANSVERSE BOLT AND LOCKWASHER. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE BOLT WAS NOT TIGHTENED AND TORQUED TO SPECIFICATIONS.
