THE BONDING TECHNIQUE USED BETWEEN THE PAD AND THE BACKING PLATE CAN RESULT IN A POROUS JOINT LAYER WHICH WATER AND SALT CAN PENETRATE, RESULTING IN CORROSION OF THE BACKING PLATE.
